Pure kinetic revenge: Jason Statham's Cole Reed is framed for his boss's murder and boards a cargo ship on a one-man crusade that uncovers an international conspiracy. Directed by Jean-François Richet, it's a lean 95-minute R-rated action thriller with no fat on it. Screenings are very limited this week, so catch it while you can.

A cosmic event rips an entire suburban street out of the world and drops it somewhere unknown, forcing the Platt family to survive their unrecognizable surroundings. From David Robert Mitchell, with Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, it's more mystery than all-out action, but the premise and scale reward the big screen. Easy to catch this week if you want something with tension over gunfire.
