Harry's second year mixes adventure and fantasy with flying cars, a warning from a mysterious house-elf, and a mystery on the walls of the school, again from director Chris Columbus. Rated PG, it has a few tense, spooky moments, so it suits kids who enjoyed the first film, with plenty for grown-ups too at 82% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.5 on IMDb. Screenings are limited to one confirmed showing this week, so aim to book early.

Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, this adventure and fantasy chapter is the most acclaimed of the wizarding films here at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.9 on IMDb, as danger returns with an escaped wizard heading for Hogwarts. Its tone is a little darker and more suspenseful, so it lands best with older children, around nine and up, and families who love the series will find it gripping. Note that it has just one confirmed screening this week.
